The Open Invitation
A Narrative Journey of Christian Formation
About The Open Invitation
Throughout the course of this study, we will explore twelve (12) key stories that exemplify various facets of the Christian life. Each of these stories, taken from an episode in the life of Jesus, will highlight one important spiritual practice (i.e., how Christians commune with God). As you progress through the stories you will notice how each of the practices relate to each other. In God’s design, there is an overlap that exists between various spiritual practices. For instance, Jesus’ practice of fasting is connected to his practice of the Scripture. The exercise of silence is modeled in the context of seclusion. Jesus’ example of service occurs in the context of table fellowship and community.
