Conclusion
Many promising leaders lie in wait inside churches today, unsure of their potential as pastors, waiting to be tapped and utilized for God’s kingdom. If you can recall what came to mind when you pictured a pastor who works a ‘secular’ full-time job in addition to a pastoral role in a church, perhaps your thinking has undergone somewhat of a transformation. That is the hope.
For the health and growth of the church, we need to train and develop vocationed pastors. It is these we want to pursue, and it is for these this primer is written. Because it is with these God will expand, establish, and reproduce his church.
As you consider this, may you be “strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:1-2).
